The Biological Sequence Analysis group performs bioinformatics analysis for the research teams of GQE and outside collaborators. Services include NGS analyses (SNPs and Structural Variation calling, de novo assembly, gene expression studies, …), genomic DNA sequence structural annotation, gene functional annotation. The staff either conducts the analyses or help or provides training to researchers, technicians and students. We also provide support for project design and data submission to international repositories.

In collaboration with the IT group, we maintain servers with configurations designed for different types of data analysis, including large memory servers for de novo sequence assembly analyses. The staff maintains many of the most commonly used data analysis software for next generation sequencing on the lab’s servers. The group also ensures storage of all NGS datasets of GQE.
