Research interests
I am currently working on characterizing maize transcriptomic response to water deficit. I develop bioinformatic and biostatistics pipelines to analyze differential expression and co-expression networks from a series of mRNA-seq data from several organs in 8 different inbred lines. During my PhD, I was interested in the Arabidopsis thaliana and maize plastidial RNA editing machinery. In angiosperm organelles, RNA editing consists in the modification of specific cytidines into uridines. I studied this maturation step, both by ‘wet lab’ (in planta) and ‘dry lab’ (in silico) approaches.
